The Special Agent position has a stringent vision requirement as a condition of employment. Special Agent applicants may be required to complete successfully a physical fitness test consisting of four assessments that are intended to evaluate an applicant's strength, agility, endurance, and other physical capabilities as part of the application process. The fitness test requires an applicant to perform push-ups, sit-ups, an agility run and 1.5 mile run, and to exceed the required baseline score across all components.

19 The U.S. Secret Service Special Agent position has a stringent physical fitness requirement as a condition of employment. To meet this requirement, at an absolute minimum, applicants MUST currently be able to 1) complete 23 sit-ups in 1 minute; 2) complete 15 push-ups in 1 minute; and 3) run 1.5 miles in 19 minutes and 40 seconds. I certify that I am able to meet these minimum standards for physical fitness.
