2 Knowledge of Natural Resources Policy** Knowledge of the science, theories, concepts, principles, issues, and/or practices of risk reduction and resilience policy related to natural hazards, such as drought, wildfire, coastal and inland flooding, extreme weather, and/or earthquakes. This includes knowledge of the science, technological approaches, history, trends, and current status of natural resources policy, with a focus on risk reduction and resilience from natural hazards, and interrelationships of federal programs and policies with the positions of key state, industry, academic, and nongovernmental stakeholders. Conceptualized public policy problems, analyzed and synthesized information and research, identified implications of scientific data and drew appropriate conclusions, generated and assessed alternatives, evaluated the consequences of choosing alternatives; designed and utilized quantitative and/or qualitative research and analytical methodologies and techniques; presented the big picture and of the public policy issue. Including 1) identifying emerging issues, 2) evaluating legislative proposals, 3) evaluating budget/appropriations, 4) assessing public/private implications of government programs or regulations, 5) assessing alternative approaches to public policy issues, and 6) evaluating governmental organization and administrative procedures to accomplish program goals.
