As a Petroleum Engineer, you will provide professional and technical support and make recommendations relating to oil and gas operations on Federal and Indian Lands. You will investigate serious drilling or producing accidents, blowouts, and fires to determine probable cause and make recommendations for the issuance of safety alerts when necessary. You will review and make recommendations for approval of all down-hole operations within the Field Area; review applications for permit to drill; insure well design will protect the environment and personnel from hazardous materials; ensure rig equipment is capable of controlling extreme pressures; ensure abandoned wells are properly plugged in order to protect subsurface formation and other resource values. Conducts engineering and economic analyses, provides professional petroleum engineering and regulatory review and makes recommendation for approval of conventional Sundry Notice applications for oil and gas operations. Participates in the preparation of environmental analyses such as resource management plans, environmental assessments and environmental impact statements.
